5 Must-Knit Summer Tops + A Yarn Unboxing & Pattern Giveaway!
Hey y’all! Kaci here from YoungFolk Knits, and today I’m bringing you a bite-sized mini-sode packed with summer knitting inspiration. We’re diving into five stunning knit tops you’ll want on your needles this season, plus a special unboxing from Sewrella’s new Summer in London collection, a discount code just for you, and a sweet little pattern giveaway at the end.
If you’re a fellow lover of fiber arts—whether it’s knitting, spinning, crochet, sewing, or just daydreaming about yarn while sipping a good cup of tea—you’re in the right place. Let’s get into the patterns first!
1. Provence Top – Sweetheart Simplicity
First up is the Provence Top by Ecatrina Vora—a charming worsted weight tee that knits up quickly thanks to its 18-stitch gauge.
This one has a gorgeous sweetheart neckline, lace above the bust, and classic stockinette below for a flattering, elevated look.
This pattern is all about texture, drape, and speed. Some of my favorite yarn options for this are:
- Sandnes Garn Line or Tynn line held double– both give great drape and affordability
- Drops Belle – another great drapey summer yarn at a nice price
- Knitting for Olive Pure Silk (held double) – dreamy with that matte shine
- Yarn Jam Linen Silk Fingering (held double) – airy, breezy, and just a bit luxe
If you’re getting a late start on your summer wardrobe, this is the perfect quick-knit to still wear before the season’s over.
2. Line Top – Striped Sophistication
Next is the Line Top by Pernille Larson from Knitting for Olive.
It’s a sideways-knit, vertically striped beauty with clean, modern shaping and contrasting color edges that flatter the waist and shoulders.
This one uses fingering weight yarn at a 28-stitch gauge. Here’s what I’d recommend yarn-wise:
- Knitting for Olive Pure Silk – perfect match, especially in deep moody tones
- Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Foxy Lady held double– a silk/merino blend with sheen and drape
The best part? It’s knit horizontally, which gives you those crisp stripes with ease. I’m so hooked on this one—I want to make it in a darker palette and wear it year-round under button-downs or cozy cardigans.
3. Iris Tank – Airy and Adjustable
The Iris Tank by Along avec Anna is giving major breathable, summer vibes. Knit in fingering weight yarn (with US3 and US4 needles), this one features open lacy diamonds, a slightly sloped V-neck, and my favorite functional detail: adjustable tie straps.
This is such a smart design because plant-based fibers tend to grow lengthwise. Being able to retie the straps means you get a perfect fit even as the fabric relaxes.
Some amazing yarn picks:
- Sandnes Garn Line or Flax and fleece from Sonder yarn co. linen + wool blends with rustic charm and drape
- Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino – a softer, slightly more structured option
This tank is as practical as it is pretty, and it comes in a wide range of sizes, so you’re sure to find the right fit for your summer wardrobe.
4. Lacey Loop Top – Scandinavian Cool
For something a bit more structured with a timeless touch, the Lacey Loop Top by Other Loops is a modern-meets-classic worsted weight tee that features eyelets, striping, and texture in all the right places. Think boat neck, clean ribbing, and effortless elegance.
I’m currently knitting the tee version using Yarn Jam’s Silk/Linen Fingering held double, and it’s turning out chef’s kiss perfection.
More great yarn options for this pattern:
- Knitting for Olive Pure Silk or Cotton Merino held double
- Sandnes Garn tynn line held double
- Camellia Fiber Co Flax Linen DK – silky, shiny, alpaca-linen blend (you might need to size up your needles depending on your tension)
This one would suit any wardrobe and could easily transition from summer staple to fall layering piece.
5. Fleur Tee – Dainty Dream
Last but certainly not least is the Fleur Tee by Brianna Mason.
This design is lacy, lightweight, and ladylike in all the best ways. Knit in fingering weight at a 30-stitch gauge, it’s delicate and detailed, featuring vertical lacework, cap sleeves, and a crew neckline that’s equal parts vintage and farmhouse-chic.
It was released back in July 2024, but thanks to Ashley from Sewrella, I recently rediscovered it—and now I have to cast one on.
This pattern comes in nine sizes up to 5X, and even though it uses US1.5 needles (I know—it’s tiny), the end result is worth every stitch.
Yarn Unboxing: Sewrella Summer in London Collection
Speaking of the Fleur Tee, I just got a super exciting yarn delivery from SewrellaYarn as part of their Summer in London collection. I’m working with them as an affiliate and had the chance to pick out a few goodies from their brand-new lineup.
Here’s what I chose:
- Covent Garden colorway on their cotton/linen/wool base – a dusty blue that I am obsessed with lately
- Countess Gray loose-leaf tea – black tea with bergamot, vanilla, orange peel, and marigold blossoms. This is my dream summer tea!
- Water Lily wool wash – the scent is delicate, floral, and perfect for those post-blocking vibes
- Limited-edition hand cream – light vanilla, super moisturizing, and ideal for dry knitter hands
One of the things I love most about this new base is that it reminds me of Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino—but with the added benefit of linen and the tonal depth of hand-dyed yarn. It’s going to make a stunning Fleur Tee, and honestly, I think it would be just as perfect for the Line Top too.
Ashley from Sewrella has done such a great job curating the Summer in London palette.

The colors are made to pair well together, so if you’re planning a multi-color project (hello, Line Top!), this collection is a great place to start. Sewrella affiliate link:
