MeMadeMay 2024 Sewing and Knitting
Hey everyone, and welcome back to Young Folk Knits, where I dive into my love for all things fiber—knitting, sewing, spinning, and more. I’m Kaci, and today I’m excited to share updates on my projects, some fabulous summer yarns, and a bit about my me made may journey.
Sewing Adventures: Embracing Linen and Vibrant Fabrics
Recently, I’ve thrown myself into sewing for Me-Made-May, crafting an entire outfit from scratch to wear during the 31 days this month —no knits today due to the heat, but plenty of vibrant linen.
I made a fun separates set using carrot orange gingham linen with a lavender background from Blackbird Fabrics. The outfit consists of the loose and comfortable Georgia Tee paired with my go-to Bob Pants.
This combo is not just easy to make but perfectly matches the ease and comfort I crave in my clothes. And yes, despite the pajama feel, I absolutely love it!

New Knits on the Horizon
Switching gears to knitting, I’ve started some exciting new projects. The Leela Top, designed by the talented Sabina from Caidree, is my current focus. Crafted from an organic cotton-linen blend by Pasquali, this top is all about sophisticated simplicity with a breezy vibe—perfect for our warm Arkansas summers.
Farm Updates and More
It’s not just about knitting and sewing here; our farm life is equally bustling. As beekeepers, we’re heading into a busy season, and the gardens are thriving. There’s never a dull moment, and somehow, this chaos beautifully weaves into my fiber projects, whether it’s color inspirations or the calming activities of knitting and sewing amidst nature’s backdrop.
